First established in the early 1920s as a tucked-away retreat from the city, Mapleton-Fall Creek grew into a bucolic urban residential neighborhood within easy reach of downtown Indy. The residential character of the neighborhood continues to this day with an abundance of homes in the arts and craft style.
With close access to the Fall Creek Greenway and the Monon Trail, dining, shopping, and entertainment are never more than a walk or bike ride away. Plus, just across Meridian at 30th Street, the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, the world’s largest children’s museum, offers Mapleton-Fall Creek residents free membership through its Neighborhood Club Program. The Indiana State Fairgrounds located just north of the neighborhood, hosts the annual Indiana State Fair and hundreds more events each year.
With several of the area’s most prominent thoroughfares — Fall Creek Parkway, College Avenue, Central Avenue, and Meridian Street — Mapleton-Fall Creek remains easily accessible by car, public transportation, bikeways and pedestrian trails to downtown Indy. With access points to I-70, I-65, and I-465, as well as the innovative IndyGo Red Line nearby, you can enjoy many convenient travel options to get to all of your Indianapolis (and surrounding area) destinations with ease.
Mapleton-Fall Creek has a lot to offer and we believe you’ll love calling it home. And with an engaged, proactive neighborhood association, you will be proud to be a part of a thriving and vibrant community.
